Slow or jerky actuator movement under load
Abnormal noise (whining, cavitation sound) from the pump area
Overheating hydraulic oil
Drop in main relief pressure or pressure drift
Metal particles in the oil filter or magnetic plug
Check hydraulic oil level, condition and temperature first — many 'pump failures' are oil problems.
Inspect the suction line and strainer for blockage or air leaks (foam in the reservoir).
Measure standby pressure and main relief pressure against specification.
Perform a stall/pressure test per the service manual to isolate pump vs. valve fault.
If the pump is confirmed, assess repair (new cartridge/plates) vs. replacement based on hours and part availability.
For high-hour machines, replacement usually beats repair: new or quality-reman pumps carry predictable life, while repaired pumps carry hidden wear elsewhere in the rotating group. KELUO supplies excavator hydraulic pumps and components for major excavator brands, consolidated with engine parts in one shipment to cut landed cost.
